The Human Problem
Some people never ask for help because they are afraid.
They may fear retaliation, embarrassment, disbelief, social consequences, or simply not know where to turn. Lantern is being developed to explore whether support pathways can be made safer, clearer, and more accountable for people facing difficult circumstances.
The project is informed in part by lived experience of bullying, family harm, and the reality that even very young children can be left without a safe route into help.
Why Lantern
Built around trust, privacy, and accountable follow-through.
Lantern is being developed as a support-facilitating platform focused on privacy, accountability, and continuity of care. The public portal exists to explain the project clearly, make important information easy to find, and provide a route into organisations that may choose to participate in Lantern as the platform develops.
For Communities
Public information should be clear, accessible, and easy to understand.
People landing on Lantern should be able to understand what the platform is, what it is not, and where to go next without running into vague messaging or hidden conditions.
- Privacy expectations are visible from the start.
- Platform terms are available before account creation.
- Contact pathways are clear for general questions and partnership interest.
For Partners
Partner organisations move through a structured review and approval process.
Organisations can express interest publicly, but they only become operational after validation, documentation review, approval, and controlled activation inside Lantern.
- Interest capture begins on the public site.
- Validation and compliance review happen internally.
- Approved organisations can then invite their partner agents in a controlled way.
Approach
The operational network must be earned responsibly.
Lantern is being built so that public trust, organisational legitimacy, and later operational workflows all connect cleanly. That means careful onboarding now, before the platform ever attempts survivor-facing routing at scale.
Lantern will not treat unverified organisations as trusted operational partners.
